A message from CNYCA President:
As we just celebrated the 2011 Year of the Rabbit, we are gearing up to prepare for the celebration of 2012 Year of the Dragon!
The Chinese New Year Culture Association (CNYCA), which is represented by a number of local Chinese community organizations, has been working diligently to organize this big community event for the past 14 years. The 15th Annual Chinese New Year celebration is scheduled on Saturday Febuary 18, 2012 at Scottish Rite Masonic Center, Sacramento.
This is the largest and most important annual Chinese festival in the Chinese community as well as many other Asian communities in the Capital region of California. This is also the time the Chinese communities get together to introduce and promote Chinese culture to the general public and other ethnic groups.
Our celebration includes traditional lion dances, martial arts, kung fu, Tai Chi, music, cultural dance performances, Chinese painting and arts, singing contest, children's games, and other fun cultural activities and exhibits. Many local businesses and organizations set up vendor booths to present their goods and services to the public at this event as well. We are seeking corporate grants and sponsorships to defray the cost of this production.
Our committee members cover the whole Capital regions, including cities of Sacramento, Folsom, Elk Grove, and Roseville. Please visit our website www.CNYCA.net for more information on our organization and past year programs. We invite you to contact us to volunteer and participate in this meaningful event.
This even is fun and will put you right in the heart of the communities.
Sincerely,
Dongmin Luo, Ph.D., P.E.
