The Celebration of the Year of the Monkey was held on January 31, 2004 at the California State University, Sacramento・s University Union. It was estimated that 3500 people attended the one-day festival. A milestone for the organization of the Chinese New Year Celebration Alliance this year is its record breaking: A record number of 16 local community organizations joined the Alliance to celebrate this event. The celebration received well coverage by media outlets such as the major television stations in Sacramento and Chinese television stations in Bay Area and Taiwan, as well as the Sacramento Bee and Chinese Newspaper World Journal and Qiao Bao. The Year of Monkey Stamp Unveiling
Every year, the United States Poster Office issues a Chinese zodiac stamp in recognition of the arrival of Chinese New Year. The unveiling of the Chinese zodiac stamp has been a traditional program in the Sacramento Chinese New Year Celebration. This year, Folsom U.S. Post Master Stu Jann, along with Chair Jane Liang unveiled the Year of Monkey Stamp at the main stage of the Chinese New Year Celebration Festival.
Stage Program
Featuring Chinese lion and dragon dance, Chinese Marshall Arts, children・s dance, folk dance and Chinese music played by both Chinese music instruments and western music instruments.

With a jump house and 12 different games for children
of all age to play and win prizes.

Featuring Mr. Shanfu Zhao・s heavy color paintings, collages, and stage set designs.
